The founder and the goal of the foundation

The Amadeus Art Foundation, 52. Bécsi Street Budapest 1036, was established in 1993 by László Baranyai, who has currently been teaching at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, with the specific aim to support the performing art of Hungarian classical music and fine art. The foundation was registered by the Budapest Metropolitan Court under decision no. 9.Pk.60.008/1994/8. as the 4729th non-profit organization.
The foundation started to take interest exclusively in fine art under the influence of Dr. Péter Balogh who has been fulfilling the office of the curator since 1999.
The goals of the foundation, which are still up-to-date, were introduced by the founder as the followings:
"The performing art of Hungarian classical music and fine art, furthermore, the education of these has had a long lasting tradition influencing the universal culture of music and fine art.
After the "vegetation" of the last couple of decades, the changes of the 90s, such as the diminishing role of the state in the social sphere, the lack of any financial support concerning different organizations from state budget, the decreasing importance of culture due to the continuous conquer of the market economy all contributed to the devastating state of the cultural heritage of Hungarian fine art and classical music. Moreover, this lack of support also limited the possibilities for the artists to present and introduce themselves, which all in all culminated in the endangerment of hundreds-of-years-old cultural heritage, making its development almost impossible.

Mainly motivated by the worries mentioned above, the founder established the foundation, the goals of which as cultural activities of a non-profit organization are listed under Section 26 c) sub point 5 of Act CLVI of 1997 as the followings:

fostering the teaching traditions of Hungarian fine art and performing art of music
supporting prospective and already talented presenters of Hungarian fine art and performing art by means of the followings:
    scholarship
ensuring possibilities for being able to introduce and present themselves and giving sufficient financial support
ensuring places in competitions, trainings, art camps and exhibitions
in some cases ensuring full management of an artistic career

The foundation does not carry out direct political measurements. In fact it is not dependant on any political parties and it does not provide or receive any support from them. Moreover, it does not nominate and support any local government representatives."
